- Welcome -

I'm glad you're here!

Neurodiversity refers to the variations within every human being's neurological, sensory and nervous systems, or how they are - wired.  Naturally, a person's wiring impacts their physical, social, emotional, and occupational development throughout their entire life. Current known neurodiverse conditions are defined as: Autism / Spectrum (Asperger's), Sensory Processing, ADD/ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, and Tourette's syndrome.

There are many barriers to obtaining access to an experienced psychologist for a neurodevelopmental evaluation for these conditions, particularly for rural areas and older teens or adults.   Even with good health insurance, pre-authorization, a referral from your primary care provider, and location within 100 miles, an individual at any age may be end up on a waitlist for up to 24 months.

Azimuth Counseling PLLC is a local clinical practice providing critical access to assessment, treatment and advocacy to individuals (6y+) with neurodiverse diagnoses, tendencies or traits.   We offer education, strategies and recommendations to a client's trusted system of support, including: partner, family member, educator, employer, healthcare provider, or skilled professionals.

Clients will explore internal and external tendencies that are disruptive or unwanted, and the survival cycles experienced trying to manage daily.  We will spend time understanding your sensory system, insight, strengths, and core values.  These perspectives will help us map out the areas of your wiring that need more support or adaptation.  Together we will strategize a plan of care with specific goals and target outcomes that include increased mind-body connection, optimization in pacing, sustainable daily functioning, improvement in meaningful connections or relationships, and alignment to core values.

Often individuals with neurodiverse wired systems experience other disruptions throughout their lives, we will tailor strategies that create a sense of reliable flow for you that focus on sustainability versus push, crash and burn cycles.  Here are a few of those disruptive areas:

  • inconsistent self-care routines

  • irregular sleep and eating patterns

  • lack of executive functioning and pacing

  • strained communication and relationships

  • persistent difficulty in school or work settings

  • sensory overload, irritability, and outbursts

  • social or performance-based anxiety and panic

  • depression, avoidance and isolation

  • shame and lack of confidence

We are allied with neurodiverse BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folx, survivors of neglect, abuse, trauma, grief / loss of any kind, and academic or employment burnout. We are experienced with the complexity burdening neurodiverse veterans, first responders, healthcare providers, educators, athletes, & entrepreneurs.

Loneliness is a common shared experience for many neurodiverse individuals, before they are connected to the global neurodivergent community.

We look forward to connecting soon.

In out-of-the-way places of the heart,

Where your thoughts never think to wander,

This beginning has been quietly forming.

Waiting until you were ready to emerge.
